Description
Novel network implementation approaches like SDN and NFV and new Information-Centric Networking (ICN) architectures may impact issues like security and privacy. As a matter of fact, network management is a key issue for network operators and virtualisation/SDN are seen as techniques with a good potential to radically bring down network opex and capex. On the other hand, network management includes more systematically management of traffic/user data(e.g. ICN traffic-aware), with the objective of maximising customer experience and quality of service. From these perspectives, the goals of this panel is to identify how a systematic move of operators towards SDN/NFV or ICN may impact issues like security and privacy. It will support the definition of future activities that may be supported by ENISA, in order to identify with sector actors the best practice at EU level from the critical points of view of security and privacy of network infrastructures.
